"As someone brand new to the design process it was relaxing and comforting to work with Zsoka, knowing that her primary concern is that I am happy with the end result. I found her directness and honesty fresh and extremely helpful in helping me make decisions. She would come up with a variety of options to choose from and we would discuss and improve until we had a design I could get excited about. I know a lot of people (myself included) are nervous about hiring a graphic designer. What if I don't like the result? What if the designer gets 'defensive' when you want changes? Well stop worrying and use Zsoka!"
Lights Out! In Support of Earth Hour
Saturday we were having a dinner party at a friend's house, and we were thrilled when she reminded us that it was the day when we had to turn the lights off for an hour in support of the Earth Hour initiative, in order to show concern and raise awareness on climate change.
We have been planning to do it ourselves, but forgot about it the day, however, I must have had it deep down in my subconscious, as when leaving the house for the party, on the way out I turned the light off in the fish tank, which I normally don't do until we go to bed.
It was actually great fun - we had a very relaxing conversation around the candles. And the bonus: dessert was served while the lights were out, so nobody really saw who ate the biggest piece ;-)
Check out the WWF website for details and a spectacular slide show of images from all over the world. In a nutshell: 3,937 cities and towns around the world switched off their lights for Earth Hour in 88 countries! 288 cities in Canada participated - 3rd highest globally. Yaay!
