LOHAS by Design is a North Vancouver based socially responsible web and graphic design company offering companies a fresh perspective regarding corporate identity and visual communication through both the web and printed media. LOHAS stands for 'Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability'. The studio designs websites and provides printed marketing material that both advertises and promotes the lifestyle for which the company is eponymously named.
Our vision is to give people the opportunity to realize what socially responsible and healthy choices they can make for themselves while making our planet a more just and sustainable place.
We do it by developing websites and designing printed materials for businesses in the LOHAS market (stands for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability). These businesses provide goods and services that appeal to consumers who value health, the environment, social justice, personal development, and sustainable living.
We work with our clients to develop corporate identities and messaging that revolve around health and sustainability. We have come to realize that through our business we can help to lead our community in social responsibility. Both consumers and provider of LOHAS products and services ourselves, we understand our clients' target market, and this helps to provide a deep and meaningful connection with our clients.
Zsoka Scurtescu

Originally from the corporate world, Zsoka brings both a practical and a spiritual element to her work. "As my clients and I work together to create their 'look' I love that we create something bigger than both of us. Sometimes we begin with nothing except the basic product or service, and through creating the brand, I have seen my clients become very proud of what they do. This gives both of us a great sense of achievement and adds another LOHAS provider into the marketplace."
As well as providing web and graphic design services, Zsoka, until very recently, has also been teaching web project management and programming one day a week at the Institute of Advanced Media in Vancouver, BC. "I love to have the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and see my students become my colleagues. I became very busy with client work, so I had to stop teaching right now, but I am hoping to go back sometimes in the future."
